Soluklan 1.4: four new techniques

Left Nostril, Right Nostril, Cooling Breath and Kapalabhati brought the number of techniques to sixteen; an age question came to the intake quiz, and guide links to the bottom of screens.

September 2026

1.4 is a technique pack. Four new techniques arrived together, making sixteen in all. Alongside them came a small question in the intake quiz and a fix that corrects measurement on tablets.

Left Nostril and Right Nostril

Two single-nostril techniques: you close one nostril with your finger and breathe in and out through the other only. The difference from alternate nostril breathing is that you breathe through the same side for the whole session. How they're done and when each one is chosen are in the single-nostril breathing article.

Cooling Breath

In Cooling Breath you draw the air in between your teeth or over a rolled tongue and breathe out through your nose. On the inhale you feel a coolness in your mouth, which is where the technique gets its name. The between-the-teeth form, which everyone can do, was taken as the main one, and the technique isn't locked: it's open from day one. It's in the Cooling Breath article.

Kapalabhati: rounds instead of time

Kapalabhati is made up of fast, strong exhales, so you choose rounds instead of a length. If you gave a health note in the intake quiz, the app discourages you from this technique and lowers the round limit. This is a precaution: fast exhales don't suit everyone. We covered it along with its cautions in the Kapalabhati article.

An age range question

An age range question was added to the intake quiz. It's optional, your answer stays on your device, and it's used for suggestions.

Breath is heard on tablets

On some tablets the microphone wasn't hearing breath; this release fixes that. In techniques where the sound is on the inhale, an inhale that starts early is no longer counted as an extra exhale.

Shortcuts to the guide

Short links to the guide on this site were placed at the bottom of screens: when you wonder how something works, you can open the relevant article from there. At the end of a session, a short question may also appear now and then. It can always be skipped.
