Soluklan on your phone
The phone is the app's main device: the measurement is most accurate here. What is where, where the microphone is looking and where your data is kept.

Soluklan runs on three devices and does not behave identically on all three. The phone is where the measurement is most accurate: the microphone is closest to your mouth here.
Where the microphone is
iPhone and iPad
The iPhone's speech microphone sits on the bottom edge, next to the charging port. If you put the phone on a table, keep the screen up and the bottom edge turned towards you. Holding it, twenty to thirty centimetres is plenty. Don't hold it at your lips: then the breath sound clips and the app warns you it is "Too close".
Android
On Android phones the microphone's position depends on the brand and the model. On most of them the speech microphone sits on the bottom edge, next to the charging port, and on some it is on the top edge. The phone's manual or the small holes along its edges will show you where it is.
Hold the phone 10–15 cm from your mouth and nose, with the microphone edge turned towards you. Don't hold it at your lips: then the breath sound clips and the app warns you it is "Too close".
Some phones process the sound before handing it to the app: they suppress noise and raise the level on their own. That processing can turn your breath down too. The app uses the least processed sound the phone offers. That is why two different phones at the same distance can hear your breath at different levels.
When the exhale isn't heard, the cause is usually the distance, the room or the technique itself. The microphone measures the silence of the room first and sets the threshold from it.
What lives on the phone
All of it. The home screen puts the Start button in the middle with your streak and session count under it; a walkthrough of every screen is a separate piece. Tapping Start takes you first to choosing a technique and a length, then to the session screen itself, where the circle, the sound wave and the occasional short warning live.
The report arrives the moment the session ends. We explained what each line of the report means and how the score is built separately. Everything that accumulates over time — history, weekly summaries and badges together with the streak and its milestones — sits in the profile.
If you want to go at it regularly you can set up a program, and if you tend to forget you can set yourself a reminder.
iPhone and iPad
To check in without opening the app, the widget and Live Activity do the job. Both exist only on phone and tablet.
Android
To check in without opening the app, add the Soluklan widget to your home screen. It shows your streak, and tapping it opens the app at the technique choice.
iPhone and iPad
Silent mode, headphones, calls
With the phone on silent the breathing and countdown sounds don't play, but haptics and the screen stay the same. If headphones are connected the input can switch to the headset microphone. Then the distance changes and so does the measurement, so taking them off is the safest. If a call arrives mid-session the session pauses, and after the call you restart the cycle from the pause menu.
Android
Vibration
With Session rhythm haptics on, the rhythm also comes through the phone's vibration. How it feels depends on the phone. Higher-end phones give fine, crisp taps, while budget phones feel coarser. If the vibration feels weak or blurry, follow the rhythm with the circle on the screen.
When you leave the app
If you leave the app or lock the screen, the session pauses. When you come back the pause menu is open, and you restart the cycle from there. Measurement does not continue in the background, and the app does not keep the microphone open in the background.
Where your data is kept
iPhone and iPad
Your session history is kept on your device and in your own iCloud account. It also shows up on an iPad signed in with the same Apple Account. The details are in Managing your data.
Android
Your session history, streak and settings are kept on your phone. Android's automatic backup saves them to your Google account, so they come back with the backup when you move to a new Android phone. iCloud is not used.
History does not move between iPhone and Android. If you switch from iPhone to Android, or use both, each device keeps its own history.
What changes on a tablet
Measuring is harder on a tablet: both the microphone position and the layout change there.
